ONE STEP FORWARD THAN TWO STEPS BACKWARDS
Mark 12: 30-31
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: ‘Love your neighbour as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.”
What does it mean to love God with all your heart, soul, and mind and with all our strength? I think we soon know when we are truly been tested by fire. When we can see only darkness and God seems to be indifferent to our pain and sufferings. God does not promises us an easy time on earth, some preachers do and they mislead so many people and because of this they are not preparing God’s children when they are facing their toughest times.
Following Jesus is Not always Easy
Jesus says ‘whoever wants to be a follower of mind, renounce yourself and pick up your cross daily and follow me.’ What does it mean to follow him? Jesus is our example. His life was excruciating painful at times, for the purpose to save souls. If we are truly to follow Him, it means sometimes we have to go through excruciating pain to save souls. Some people might be misinterpreting what I mean at this moment. If Jesus did not die on the cross and paid for our sins all our efforts of working for our salvation and of others would be in vain. I am not saying that our sufferings are actually worth anything in itself, but because Jesus has paid the price and we are now in a position to call on the sufferings of Jesus and unite it with our own, now our sufferings are worth something in the eyes of God.
We all Deserve Everlasting Fires of Hell
We all deserve a miserable death in hell forever and forever, because we always prefer to take the easy way out, which leads to sin. It is lovely thinking that God loves us so much that He sent His beloved Son to die for us and saves us from our sins, but do we ever desire to give God a little back in gratitude of all that He has given us. We still have to do our part. We still have to follow Jesus. To follow Jesus is hard work sometimes, not all the time, but as the Bible says there is a season for everything.
God’s strongest children those who love Him very deeply, take on a heavier load to help Jesus saves souls and it is truly costly. Saint Paul promises us that our suffering will not be anywhere near compared to the joys of Heaven that waits us. God will out do our generosity, we can count on it. After all the sins we commit we are only getting a little of what we deserve.
Our Sufferings are Only for a Short Time
It does not matter what we are going through at this moment, it is not as bad as hell, even if some think so. Read up on people who have visited hell and hear what they have to say about it. It is absolutely a frighting place and the worst of it, the people who are dammed are dammed forever. Jesus was totally innocent but He was willing to suffer all for us, so that we would not go there. He wants us reigning in Heaven with Him and He can lead you there if you only trust Him. Do not give up, persevere to the end.
You have to pray without ceasing, it is not a choice it is a necessity. God will hear you, but you have to keep it up. Some people will have to simplify their lives so that they can find time to pray. Others may have to pray on the run. Jesus had to pray on the run many times Himself. When you feel at your driest while in prayers you are in fact the strongest that is what saints have been told by God. God does not depend on how we feel, He wants our wills and then He will do the rest. That is what God has promised to different visionaries and He is not just talking to them He is talking to all of us.
