Powerful prayers to remember. Some people might be confused why Catholics refer to Mary as the Mother of God. There was a time in history when people were saying that Jesus was just a man and not God, so the church gave Mary that title to cancelled out that lie. The church was saying is still saying Jesus is God as well as man. Jesus is the second person in the Holy Trinity. We have God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, three person but one God. The best way to explain it is you are one person, but people relate to you differently on each role, for example the role of a offspring, parent, and sibling, you are the same person but you have these different roles.
The Chaplet of Divine Mercy
On the Medal of Our Lady (the medal that begins the circle of the beads, not from the crucifix)
You say
Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen
Then say one Hail Mary
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and the hour of our death. Amen
Then say the Apostle Creed
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He descended into hell; on the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins and the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen
Then you say on the medal of Our Lady, that beings the circle of rosary beads and from then on the bead that stands alone.
Eternal Father, I offer you the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Thy Dearly Beloved Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world.
Then you say on all the ten beads in a row, in other words the beads that you would normally say Hail Mary.
For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world.
You finish the prayer by saying three times.
Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world.
